To every parent, the children are the sacred trust of the great Lord Almighty. In order to protect this deposit, it is necessary for them to grow up beautifully as well as to be kept free from all dangers and losses. Parents are always very concerned about the safety of their children. Try to keep it safe.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, Every one of you is a shepherd and everyone is responsible for their subordinates. A person is a shepherd for his own family and he is responsible for them. (Bukhari and Muslim). In light of Hadith, the father is responsible for the children. In that light, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) advised the custody of children.

Duas for protecting your Children:

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) often prayed for the safety of his beloved grandsons, Hazrat Hasan and Hazrat Husain (may Allaah be pleased with them).

أُعيـذُكُمـا بِكَلِـماتِ اللهِ التّـامَّة، مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْـطانٍ وَهـامَّة، وَمِنْ كُـلِّ عَـيْنٍ لامَّـة

English Transliteration: “Uijukuma bikalimatillahit tammati, min qulli shaitbanio wa hammati, wa min qulli ainin liammati.”

English translation: “I seek refuge in you with the help of the word of Allah from all kinds of devils, ferocious animals, and the danger of neglect.” (Bukhari)

Recite the last three chapters of the Quran:

Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas are well known for their protective properties. Read these chapters in your hand and wipe over them before you go to sleep.

It was narrated from Aisha that:

When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) went to bed every night, he would hold his hands together and recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas among them. Then he would wipe them over whatever he could of his body, starting from the head and mouth and the front of his body, and he would do it three times. (Al-Bukhari 5017)

Recite Ayatul kursi:

Similarly, Ayatul kursi, verse 255 of Surah Baqara, is known for his protection against Satan. Parents should include Ayatul Kursi in their daily recitations on your children.

When you go to bed, recite this verse: “Allah! La ilaha illa Huwa (No one has the right to be worshiped except Him), Al-Hayyul-Qayyum (Eternal, He is the One who exists and those who protect Him) ”(Surat al-Baqara, 2: 255). Then Allah will appoint for you a guardian who will be with you and no Shaitan will come to you till morning.

Surah Baqara:

The recitation of Surah Baqara is known to keep Satan away from home. Since many misfortunes are the devil of nature (evil vision, possession, black magic), keeping the devil away from your home is fundamental to protecting your family.

The Prophet forbade children to go out of the house, especially during Maghrib.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) narrated from Hazrat Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that, ‘When night draws near, keep your children inside the house. Because the devil comes out at this time. You can release them after some time has passed in the night. (Bukhari and Muslim).

Therefore, utmost care should be taken regarding children so that Satan does not harm them in any way. All parents and guardians of the child should pray for the safety of the child in the morning and evening, at home and outside, and be vigilant. To teach the children the important prayers of daily life. May Allah Almighty grant all the parents and guardians of the Muslim Ummah the Tawfiq to take care of their children and take care of them. Allahumma Amin.
