Everyone in the world must taste death. But when that time will come – it is unknown. There is no way out of death. Surely the time of death is fixed. No one can die without God’s permission. There are numerous descriptions of this in the Qur’an and Hadith.
Dua for Deceased:
In the Holy Qur’an, Allah the Almighty says:
كُلُّ نَفْسٍ ذَآئِقَةُ الْمَوْتِ وَإِنَّمَا تُوَفَّوْنَ أُجُورَكُمْ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ فَمَن زُحْزِحَ عَنِ النَّارِ وَأُدْخِلَ الْجَنَّةَ فَقَدْ فَازَ وَما الْحَيَاةُ الدُّنْيَا إِلاَّ مَتَاعُ الْغُرُورِ
Translate: ‘The creature will soon taste death. And on the Day of Resurrection, you will be paid in full. So whoever is kept away from the Fire (Hell) and (who) enters Paradise, he will be successful. And the life of this world is nothing but deceptive enjoyment. ‘(Surah: Al-Imran, verse: 185).
There are several things described in this verse. First: Death is such a constant fact that there is no way out of it. Second: Whatever he does in this world, good or bad, he will be fully rewarded in the Hereafter. Thirdly, the real success has been achieved by the one who has satisfied his Lord while he was in the world and as a result of which he has been removed from Hell and admitted to Paradise. Fourth: Worldly life is the wealth of deception. The one who can save himself from this deception will be lucky. And whoever falls into this trap of deception, he will be a failure and miserable.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said,
أكْثِرُواْمِنْ ذِكْرِ هاَدِمِ اللَّذَّاتِ
That is: Remember more and more the thing that destroys the taste of life (death).’ (Tirmidhi).
Dua for dead Person:

After hearing the news of death, it is important for us to pray for the deceased.
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ
Transliteration: ‘Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiyun.’ (Surah Al-Baqara, verse: 156).
Translate: “Surely we belong to Allah and indeed we will all return to Him.”
This verse reminds people of death. Because Allah Ta’ala sent man to the earth for a certain period of time. At the end of time, Allah Ta’ala took that servant away from the earth.
Therefore, it is the duty of every human being to do the most honest deeds and to prepare for death and to pray for the dead.

Dua for someone Passing Away:
Apart from sudden death, many die from bed bugs. In the case of such people, that is, in the bed of the death traveler, there are some special deeds. Hazrat Rasulullah (peace be upon him) has discussed this in detail in the hadith.
Hazrat Muaz (RA) said that Hazrat Rasoolullah (SAW) has said, ‘Whoever has the last word – La ilaha illallah (i.e. whoever dies while reciting the Kalima), will enter Paradise. (Sunan Abu Dawood: 3116)
Elsewhere, it has been narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (RA) that Hazrat Rasoolullah (SAW) said, “Remind your dying people of La ilaha illallah.” (Sahih Muslim: 917)
After determining good-evil and right-wrong for man, Allah declares that man will be judged in the Hereafter on the basis of good-evil and right-wrong. People of good character will be rewarded there and gain eternal happy life.
On the other hand, the consequences for people with bad character will be very terrible. This is an inevitable fact which there is no justifiable reason to deny.
In this context, it has been narrated in the hadith that Hazrat Umm Salama (RA) said, Hazrat Rasulullah (SAW) went to Abu Salama. Then his (after the soul came out) eyes were open. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) stopped it and said, “When (someone’s) life is taken away, the eyes look at him.” (Hearing this) some of his family members started crying and moaning. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, ‘Pray for your souls. Because the angels say Amen to your words. Then he said this prayer-
Pronunciation: Allahummagfir Li Abi Salama, (Here the name of the deceased will be) Warfa ‘Darajatahu Fil Mahdiyin, Wakhlufhu Fi Aqbibihi Fil Ga-Birin, Wagfir Lana Walahu Ya Rabbal Alamin- Wafsah Lahu Fi Qabrihi Wanawirlahu fih.
Meaning: O Allah! Forgive him and raise him above the righteous, and give him successors among the remnant. Forgive us and him, O Lord of the worlds! Make his grave wide and illuminate the grave for him. (Sahih Muslim: 920)
Hazrat Umme Salama (RA) said Hazrat Rasulullah (SAW) said, ‘Speak kindly when you come near the sick or the dead. Because the angels say ‘Amen’ in our words. (Umme Salamah) said, “After that, when (my husband) Abu Salamah (RA) died, I came to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said, ‘O Messenger of Allaah! Abu Salama is dead. (So what shall I say now?) ’He said,‘ Say this prayer-
Transliteration: ‘Allahummagfir li walahu, waaqbibni minhu uqba hasana.’
Translate: O Allah! Forgive me and him and give me a better reward than him. So I said that, so Allah Almighty gave me a better exchange than that to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) (as a husband). (Sahih Muslim: 919)
Dua for Relife Death pain:
Transliteration: ‘Allahumma Inna Naujubika Min Ajabi Jahannama, Wa Aujubika Min Ajabil Kabari, Wa Aujubika Min Fitnatil Masihid Dajjali, Wa Aujubika Min Fitnatil Mahiya Wal Mamati.’

Benefits: Narrated Abdullah bin Abbas: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to teach them this supplication just as he used to teach them Surahs of the Qur’an. He used to say, say, O Allah! We seek refuge in You from the torment of Hell, and we seek refuge in You from the torment of the grave, we seek refuge in You from the temptations of the Dajjal, and we seek refuge in You from the temptations of life and death. (Nasai, Hadith: 5512)
